Formed in 1997, the Kungsbacka Piano Trio have gained an enviable reputation as one of the most outstanding ensembles of their kind. Having established their credentials early on by winning First Prize in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, they went on to join the Young Concert Artists Trust and BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists scheme. They also became “Rising Stars” with the European Concert Halls Organisation, performing at venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam and Konzerthaus, Vienna.
In the United Kingdom, the Trio perform at the South Bank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, LSO St Luke’s, and the City of London, Cheltenham and Edinburgh International Festivals. They have toured Germany, France, Switzerland and Sweden, and performed at the Lockenhaus Festival in Austria, the BBC Proms in London, and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The BBC has broadcasted the trio’s live performance from the Lammermuir, Gower and Belfast International Music Festivals.
“Is there a better trio ensemble in Western Europe?”
